Heidi has performed at: Circus Monoxide’s Big Top, La Petite Grande, Tony Rooke’s Tiny Top, The Gangsta’s Ball, with Six Quick Chicks, Amy Amore’s Love Circus, Sydney Hoopla Festival and on the European Summer Street Festival Circuit. Heidi has featured at Sydney’s cabaret clubs including 34B, Ruby Revue, Dr Sketchies, The Vault. In 2010 she premiered her solo show, “Lost and Found – The Sugar Candy Show” at the Sydney Fringe Festival.

Heidi is a children’s favourite: She has is a returning performer at the Sydney Children’s Festival, Kidsfest, National Maritime Museum, Primary Schools Australia wide and Port Fairy Folk Festival.

Heidi has performed at festivals of all kinds around Australia, UK and Europe including: Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Avignon Fringe Festival-France, Linz Festival Pflasterspektakel Austria, National Circus Festival Tasmania, Adelaide Fringe Festival, Vivid Festival of Light, Port Fairy Folk Festival, Hoopla Festival Sydney, Sydney Children’s Festival, Worlds Funniest Island Sydney, Tamworth CMF, Rockhampton Beef Festival, McKay Festival, Rockdale Australia Day, Parramatta Australia Day and New Years Eve, Wollongong New Year and Australia Day, Riversdale Festival Bundanon, Viva La Gong, Kidsfest, Morambilla Festival of Song.

Heidi learned her skills from the best in the business.  She learnt her technical Hula Hooping skills from Yos Worth (Fruit Fly Circus) and assembled her first routine with Kareena Oats (Rock n’ Roll Circus/Circus Oz royalty) She sought out professionals along the way to assist her reach her goals and made up the rest along the way. She has trained aerials with Natalie Harris (Cirque du Solei), and with Rodleigh Stevens (Trix Circus).  She has worked with Kim Kaos to learn the fine art of Lassoing.

Heidi has been a recipient of awards, mentorships and prizes: The Bundanon Estate Artist in Residence Program (3 years) and the Merrigong Theatre Development Programs (4 projects). She was selected as a participant in the Legs on the Wall/NIDA Vaudeville Project and received the KidsFest Big Kid Award in 2012.

Heidi gets plenty of media attention: The ABC News, Tim Bailey’s Weather, Good Morning Australia and My Kitchen Rules. She featured in Archibald prize winner, Wendy Sharpe’s “Buresque” exhibition in Sydney in 2012 and in Louise Hawson’s book and MOS exhibition 52 Suburbs. She has also been engaged as a motivational speaker and has featured in the newspapers many times, including the Sydney Morning Herald, Good Weekend “You Do What? – Heidi Hoops, Professional Hula Hooper”. Mr Tim Elliot from the SMH described Heidi Hoops as, “…one of the hottest acts on the Australian circuit”.
